Quick Feet Soccer Football Passing Drill.
25th May 2011

Dribble the ballOne of the most important techniques to learn in football is how to pass the    ball.

Passing the ball should be quite simple to learn though takes a lot of practice to perfect and get right. In fact professional footballers do this every day in training, and the young footballer should also practice passing the ball as often as possible.

Practicing simple ball passing techniques is a good start, though to improve the quality and accuracy of passing you need to make the drills more difficult and encourage the players to control and pass the ball under pressure.

The drill below adds an element of speed of thought and coordination to passing.

There are two balls in use. The player at the bottom of the T passes the ball alternately to either player on the outside of the middle player, they pass their ball back to the middle player.

Each player must control the ball and then pass it. Because there are two balls in use each player must be ready to control and pass rapidly, because the next ball will be coming along in seconds.

As this drill progresses try doing it with first time passes.

Switch players to the different positions to give each player a go at different passes.
