Learning
to pass the ball to a team-mate seems to be one of the fundemental
and easiest techniques to learn in football. If it is that easy why
do we watch so many players, professionals and local players alike,
pass the ball to the opposition or kick it directly into touch?
Passing the ball when you are in space is fairly straight forward, you control the ball and pass it to your nearest team-mate who is also in space. It gets a little more difficult when you are closed down or pressed, and then you have to make space and a quicker decision as to who and how you are to pass the ball.
Below are a few simple drills to help with ball passing. These drills start off simple, then each one gets a little more tricky and makes the player think.
All the drills are the same, pass the ball to a team mate then either follow it or run to another player.
Drill - 1
Pass the ball and follow it.

Drill - 2
Pass the ball and follow it
Drill - 3
Pass the ball and move to another player

These drills can be used as a warm up and to practice passing and moving. In drill 3 players need to make sure the balls don't hit each other.
